Dogs like citizen tend to sleep in the same place when they can, they like to stretch out or curl up in a place that is customary to them, my Labrador likes to circle colse to and make a nest from the blankets and pillows that make up her bed, but just like all citizen sleep in distinct positions so do all dogs, that is why having the right dog bed for them is important.
The bed you choose will depend on distinct things, the size of your dog, the allocation you have to spend, how your dog sleeps and where you are going to keep the bed.

It might sound confident but you will be amazed how many owners do not take the size of there dog, or at least the size the puppy will grow to come to be in to catalogue when buying the bed, you need to make sure that there is sufficient room for your dog to sleep in it now, and unless you wish to buy a new bed every few months is it going to be big sufficient for when your dog grows
How much you spend on the dogs bed is up to you, there is nothing wrong with a box that you add blankets to as long as it is big sufficient and comfortable that is good enough. Having said that I know of citizen who have had handmade dog beds fitted into the home furnishings. I use a plastic dog bed with a base blanket, a large pillow that fits in the lowest of the bed a smaller second pillow and a blanket that the dog can move colse to so she can make her bed as she wants it.
So when you buy your new dog bed think of these points, the relax of your dog should be your main priority.
