Cat beds come in a huge collection of colors, shapes, styles, and sizes for every house and cat around. There are beds for one-cat studio apartments and yet there are also beds for twelve cat mansions. It has come to be much easier to please a finicky feline while still retention your house from finding like a "crazy cat-lady" lives there.
If you live in a small apartment with one kitty, then it is most likely that you will opt for one of the simpler cat beds ready today. Either your basic pillow in a basket type, or a small cat "condo" that can double as a scratching post. However, you may want to reconsider one of the newer types that hook onto your window allowing your kitty a bird's eye view of the neighborhood.

Now as every cat owner knows, once you have had one cat chances are you'll be getting an additional one one or two, or three or even four. Once this happens, you're going to need more cat beds or at least a larger option for you feline friends to snooze in. If floor space is still at a premium, you may want to reconsider a cat tree type bed. These often offer three or more sleeping spots, but have a very small foot print since they go up much more than they go out. These again are great because they offer abundance of scratching exterior for your cats as well.
Ok, so you've had a few cats in your past, and now have a larger house, and have added a few more cats into the picture. Well, your only real option at this point is to get more cat beds. Offer your feline companions a collection of places to sleep, because as a cat person you know that what one cat has all the other cats are going to want. They are kind of like children in that regard.
Personally, I supervene the same rule for cat beds as I do for litter boxes. One bed per kitty, with one extra bed just in case it's needed. Therefore, in a house with two cats I would have three boxes and three beds. That way there is always some place for everyone to sleep. And of course, cats being cats, they are going to insist on their bed being on your bed because that's their favorite place to sleep, with their human.
